Sungai Watch is an environmental organization on a mission to clean rivers around the world, starting in Indonesia. We are passionate environmental activists who want to protect and restore Indonesia’s rivers by developing and designing simple barriers to stop the flow of plastic pollution from going into the ocean.

About the Speaker:
Sam Bencheghib is a filmmaker and environmental activist. Growing up in Indonesia with his two siblings, they co-founded Make A Change World and Sungai Watch to get plastic pollution on the front-page news. Make A Change World is a media outlet and environmental agency that uncovers uplifting and inspirational stories. Sungai Watch is an environmental organization on a mission to clean rivers around the world, starting in Indonesia.
Passionate about creating social change, Sam and his siblings have launched a series of expeditions around the world to tackle plastic pollution, one of which motivated the Indonesian President to deploy 7,000 military troops to clean the world’s most polluted river. Last year, Sam ran 5,000 kilometers across the United States, from New York to Los Angeles to bring attention to plastic pollution. Sam and his siblings are now working on growing Sungai Watch and installing a trash barrier in every river in Indonesia.
