“Ocean Trash to Optics Treasure” Bali Beach Clean-Up

Join us on a collaborative Cogiving Project between Opolis, R.O.L.E Foundation, Bali LIfe Foundation, Dojo Bali, Indosole, Potato Head, Project Reef, Ocean Soul Bali, and Thermal Surfing on a Beach Clean-Up event.

The goal for the clean-up is to tell the stories of the communities most impacted by plastic pollution on the island – how they are combating the pollution, what type of education, programs they are rolling out AND most importantly cleaning up Bali beaches. The clean-up will be directly supporting R.O.L.E Foundation and Bali Life Foundation.  Funds generated from the event will be donated to the organization.

(4) Conservation and

(5) Optimism

Normally, 20 people can gather around 180 to 250 kg of waste on other beaches in two hours, we could gather around 500 kg and would still see the waste even after a clean-up. It would be great to spotlight the pollution that occurs in the area and how impacts the surrounding community.

Collection Agency

R.O.L.E. will collect and sort the waste after the beach clean-up at their ZeroWaste Center. If the waste is still reusable we will either reuse, recycle, or sell it to a local waste bank. But if it’s not usable, we will gather everything and unfortunately will transport it to a landfill. Opolis will cover the sorting and transport costs. Once the sorting is done, they will send a report on what types of waste and how many kg for each type of waste.
